Before coming to Real Rehab, Deb spent nine years working as a physical therapist at the UW Sports Medicine Clinic. With a very diverse caseload of orthopedic and sports related injuries, Deb has been able to expand her skills as a manual therapist using muscle energy techniques, joint mobilization, myofascial release and Graston technique. In addition, she has experience with custom orthotics , functional knee bracing, and bike fit assessments.
Her goals for the next year are to receive certification in manual therapy techniques (COMT) and to become a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS).
Deb participated in a research study for ACL prevention in female athletes, has been a clinical instructor for physical therapist interns and has been a presenter at a continuing education course on "Knee Injury Prevention".
Away from work Deb played soccer for many years but now enjoys playing tennis, hiking, cycling, skiing, running and backpacking.
