BETHANIE BAYHA, DPT, OCS
Bethanie works with clients of all ages and emphasizes function in the evaluation and treatment of both athlete and non-athlete cliental attempting to provide education and interventions to promote optimal return to an active lifestyle and to prevent re-injury. She is a board certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist and has completed the Gary Gray Applied Functional Science Certification. When not treating patients, Bethanie serves as the Director of Program Development for Real Rehab taking on the hearty task of organizing all the programs outside of your normal physical therapy services. She believes strongly in providing ongoing education during the recovery process in order to encourage injury prevention through self-knowledge and management strategies. She is also interested in the role of nutrition in injury prevention and recovery and designed a class on nutrition for the active adult, which she taught as a continuing education course for physical therapists and athletic trainers.
Bethanie is a Puget Sound native, having grown up on the Kitsap Peninsula and later attending the University of Puget Sound where she received a BA in Psychology in 1997. She received a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Southern California in 2001. Since that time she has completed a variety of continuing education courses to advance her skills in manual therapy and functional analysis. She has a special interest in ACL prevention and rehab, hip impingement syndromes and sports-specific training/rehab. She taught a basic bike fit and safety course at the REI educational series as well as injury prevention and functional mobility sessions for the Lymphoma and Leukemia Society Team in Training group. She designed and currently runs an 8-week functional core strengthening class at Real Rehab.
Outside the clinic, Bethanie spends much of her free time running, cycling, hiking and paddle boarding. Sports have been an integral part of her life and she has competed in a variety of activities including soccer, lacrosse, rowing, triathlon, running, basketball and urban challenge races. She is also an avid cook and enjoys creating new recipes.
