EMILY ADELSON, DPT
Emily received her doctorate in physical therapy from Washington University in Saint Louis, where she studied the Movement System Impairments approach as taught by Shirley Sahrmann. She also received her Bachelors from Washington University in Anthropology and Public Health.
Emily believes in an individualized approach for every patient, and she utilizes a blended treatment approach. She is interested in identifying the biomechanical faults that lead to injury, and incorporates movement education with all of her patients. She enjoys treating all types of patients, including individuals with musculoskeletal pain, overuse injuries, sports related injuries, post-surgery and more. Whatever the diagnosis, Emily is committed to helping each patient reach their goals. Emily uses education, empathy, and communication to empower her patients to optimize movement and function in their daily lives.
During her graduate studies, she blended her passion for running and physical therapy by organizing a community based 5k/10k road race to raise awareness and funds for physical therapy research. She has a special interest in the treatment of runners and focuses on gait mechanics.
Outside of the clinic, Emily enjoys training for triathlons, hiking, skiing, exploring Seattle, and enjoying the beautiful Pacific Northwest!
